Voices of a Battered Soul #1: FEAR

I’m starting a new project on WattPad that’s a bit different and darker than my other work.  I work hard to be positive on a daily basis, but the truth is I battle a lot of inner demons.  Instead of letting them win, I started writing down what they say, and it helps me to deal with each one as they appear.  Some of those I have shared in separate posts over the past year.  So some of what I share moving forward might sound familiar.  But new writing is in the works.

The project is titled: Voices of a Battered Soul.

Battered Souls have endured a lifetime of abuse: emotional, verbal, physical, sexual, or even all of the above.  This leaves behind scars, some of which never truly heal.  Although a Battered Soul may find the strength and courage to move forward in life and discover happiness, many times the voices of their scars whisper to them late at night.  This is a detailed account of the whispering voices of one such Battered Soul.  If you are a Battered Soul, I hope you may find strength in knowing you are not alone in your suffering.

Fear, Anxiety,

Terror, Horror.

Suffocating, blinding, breath-taking.

A swirling black abyss…

An unrelenting force…

Squeezing, crushing, crippling,

Loneliness, sadness, sleeplessness.

No light, No hope, No peace…

Swallowing (w)hole; No escape.

Consuming, haunting, wasting away,

All because of Fear.

  1. I love the idea behind this project because vocalization is so key to addressing and healing from trauma!

    1. Thank you… to be honest, it’s therapeutic for me, and I also hope it helps others know they are not alone in how they feel.
