To Withstand the Tempest

I am beyond thrilled to announce that the second book in my Guardians of Bliss series is now available for purchase on Amazon!  If you haven’t had the chance to read volume 1, Embrace the Storm, you might not want to read below, because there are definitely a couple of spoilers in the synopsis!

I’m so excited to share the next part of Jessi’s journey!  This story has such a special place in my heart.  It is a story of grief, loss, growing up, friendship, discovering who you are, learning to accept who you are, and most importantly, holding onto HOPE even through the darkest of times.

Jessi survived her encounter with the infamous Mordecai and miraculously escaped Sanctum, saving the life of her best friend in the process. Now she would like nothing more than a bit of peace and quiet in order to think…

Since her return to Bliss, Jessi has thought of nothing other than how she might be able to convince Elijah to leave his life with the Myriad and return to the Guardians where he belongs. He was meant to be a Guardian. Nothing can convince her otherwise. She simply needs time, and perhaps a little help from the Makers, to encourage him to see the truth.

Much to Jessi’s dismay, however, life never seems to go according to plan. She soon learns that Guardians living outside of Bliss are disappearing; some are even dying. Venom is to blame. Mordecai and his Myriad plan to launch the world into chaos by using their vile weapon to render the Guardians powerless to save anyone.

When the attacks strike close to home, Jessi realizes she will need to help rally the Guardians and their allies in order to prevent the Myriad from destroying the Guardian race.

But if Elijah refuses to leave his old life with the Myriad behind, will she have to face him as an enemy once again?

      2. Oh, I’m definitely taking a short break, lol.

My first book took a long time to write. I finished the first draft in just a couple years, but then I changed things multiple times over the next ten years or so… then everything finally fell into place. And I finally started writing for myself instead of writing what I thought publishers wanted to read. That’s why I self-publish. It allows me to stay true to my story, whatever the story may be. I still work hard to have a good plot, along with good grammar and very few typos. I don’t release sloppy work. But it’s my story from my heart. That has helped me find writing more enjoyable and so the words flow much faster now. 💜

Awesomeness! You don’t come across as the slack sort.

I guess this is why I like poetry…. there’s a bit of freedom where I can get away with that a story couldn’t. I’m best when I can let my imagination run free.

      4. You have to write what comes to you… I write poetry on occasion. I love it. Then other times these characters crawl into my head and bug me until I write their stories. Most the time it doesn’t even seem like I’m the one creating the story. I’m just telling the story for whoever it is inside my head, lol.

Now that’s creative! I’ve tried writing stories but… it has to really be in my head for me both to write it, make it sound right and keep interest in writing it. Poetry is different. A line will come to mind and I’ll chew on it until I have it complete. Usually it’s about love or something about a woman. Which is kind of weird coming from a guy… it’s like I have a woman living in my head lol! 😬

I think it’s because 99% of my followers are female. Guys just don’t seem to be interested in my blog. And reading blogs like your’s influences things that go on in a woman’s heart. That sounds kind of weird and corny but it my theory…
