I must admit every time I see this quote, I struggle a bit in the inside. Controlling my reactions when life takes a downward spiral can be pretty tough. I get caught up in all the things I can worry about.Fear suffocates me. Sometimes I find it hard to breathe through the anxiety I feel.
However, I have been trying some new things in order to handle the rough times a bit better. One of those things is trying to find positive things even while all the negative stuff is happening. It’s hard, but in the back of mind, I’m always aware that things could be worse. So that means there must be something to be grateful for even though things feel so bad.
Maybe this sounds crazy to you. It did to me the first few times I heard about other people trying it. But I honestly think it works. I know it has helped me. I have several friends who use this technique as well. I actually just read a friend’s post this morning, and she shared that she has been doing the similar things in her own life.
What about you? Have you found techniques that help you cope through the rough times?
I’m having a hard time right now with my anxiety and can relate to your words so much โค๏ธ๐ It’s hard to breathe when we feel like we are overwhelmed in anxiety. What helps me is crying. I cry a lot. I’m always sensitive. Also sometimes medication helps. Being in nature, reading, singing helps too. There’s nothing that I would prefer more now which is sitting in front of the sea hearing the waves crashing to the shore. That’s the most calming thing I’ve ever heard and always make me so happy โค๏ธ
The sea really is a glorious creation. My grandma grew up on the coast and when she got older and her arthritis acted up, she would always say if she could just take a walk along the beach and soak her feet in the salt water, that would solve everything. She felt its power. Iโm glad you know what helps you. Itโs hard to battle anxiety, but when you have ways of coping and getting yourself through, itโs a little bit easier to hang in there. ๐
Prayer, outdoors and playing music!
